July 27-August 8, 2024

The United Nations Sustainable Development Goals Public Education and Participation Project and the Global Youth Titanium Project recruit 25 primary, secondary school students aged over 10 years old .

As a participant in this SDGs practice project,

2 bilingual core tutors for the whole process and 7 special British tutors

In 13 days , the footprints will cover half of the UK.

It includes 10 towns in 3 regions of England and Wales , with a journey of 1,500 kilometers.

Using sociological research methods, anthropological participant observation, and constructive learning-by-doing PBL project-based learning ,

The research content focuses on the three major areas of sustainable development - environment, society, and economy, including politics, science and technology, history, culture, education, innovation and other fields.

After completing the project, you will be awarded a social practice certificate certified by the United Nations project and counted towards sustainable development education practice hours.

Stand at the crossroads leading to the future, stay connected to the world, and "see" the history of Britain and the world;

How did an abandoned shale mine in Wales become a world-leading ecological center and a cutting-edge institution for researching and teaching practical solutions for sustainable development - the Center for Alternative Energy Technologies CAT?

How did Tones, a former industrial city, become a classic case of global development transformation ?

How did an abandoned mining pit in the UK become the world’s largest indoor greenhouse garden and a globally renowned sustainable landmark Eden?

? How does Schumacher College, known as the Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry in the ecological education world , bring sustainable development and social innovation to students?

The Titanium Project's UK Sustainable Development Journey will find the answer together with the students!

In the process of finding these answers,

We will master critical thinking , review historical knowledge, learn real-world problems and “answers”, and—

★ Find your own niche in uncertainty and connect with the outside world;

★ Understand the direct and indirect relationships between individuals and the environment, society and economic aspects;

★ You will have interdisciplinary knowledge and skills, and develop critical thinking, problem-solving and teamwork skills;

 Understand the common problems faced by the world and mankind today, so as to know the language that individuals will use in the world in the future;

★ Become the promoter and leader of sustainable development of future society and the creator of a better tomorrow.

Project-based PBL research:

? Before traveling, the instructor will lead students to conduct 6 online classes to lay a solid foundation for project-based PBL learning;

After each day's trip, students are allowed to express, reflect, discuss, and summarize, learn critical thinking, and become a person that cannot be replaced by AI;

? Group to conduct field research, and produce group research articles under the guidance of teachers throughout the process. Optional topics include British cities and countryside, community development and transformation, responsible consumption and production, wetland protection, etc.

? Follow-up actions also include promoting young people to connect with environmental and social issues in their communities and schools after participating in the project, and solve problems through actions, thereby improving leadership!
