Why learn and practice SDGs

The United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) aim to advocate and strengthen the participation and collaboration of various departments and civil society, to prioritize urgent issues that should be addressed from the three dimensions of society, economy and environment , and to achieve the sustainable development transformation of countries and regions. and the global goal of benefit and prosperity for everyone.

These 17 goals not only succinctly point out the direction of future global development , but also provide a thinking framework and conceptual system for young people to deeply understand and participate in real problem solving and comprehensive ability improvement.

Therefore, SDGs are a good tool and approach that is understood by the whole world, and therefore it is also a global language . At the same time, it is also a scaffolding for us to understand the complexity and diversity of the world.

The 2017 United Nations report pointed out that to support the world in moving towards sustainable development, the basic core abilities of young people should include: systematic thinking ability, pillar ability, benchmark ability (normative ability), strategic ability, cooperation ability, critical ability, thinking ability, self- Awareness, integrated problem-solving abilities, etc. These abilities are the absolute competitiveness for the future .

Countries such as Italy and Australia have deeply integrated SDGs-based sustainable development education with national curricula. The Publicity and Education Center of the Ministry of Ecology and Environment of China has also integrated SDGs with the theme of creating an international ecological school (Eco-school) to carry out sustainable development education across the country. Sustainable development and ecological civilization education.
